HGV tracking with remote tachograph download
Every HGV operator has to download driver cards at least every 28 days and vehicle units at least every 90. Doing it by hand means trucks back at the depot and someone chasing card readers. A CAN-connected tracker does it over the air while the truck keeps working.
Downloads that happen on schedule, not when the truck is in
The Teltonika FMC650 connects to the tachograph and the vehicle CAN bus. With a Fleetalyse HGV Pro plan it downloads driver card and vehicle unit files remotely, stores them and reads the calibration date, so the next calibration due is reported rather than remembered.
Live driver hours and real vehicle data
Alongside the downloads you see where each truck is and how much driving time the driver has left. From the CAN bus the FMC650 reads real odometer, fuel and engine data, which feeds fuel reports and maintenance planning.
Installed properly the first time
An experienced commercial-vehicle fitter connects power, ignition, the CAN or FMS interface and the tachograph. The easy-installation tachograph cables plug in between the existing connectors, so there is no cutting or splicing of the truck wiring.

In the UK, driver cards at least every 28 days and vehicle units at least every 90 days. Remote download lets you do both more often without bringing the truck in.
Which plan includes remote download?
Remote tachograph download is part of the Fleetalyse HGV Pro plan, used with a compatible tracker such as the FMC650.
Do I need the tachograph cable?
It is strongly recommended. The easy-installation cable connects the tracker to the tachograph without splicing into the truck wiring, which keeps the installation clean and reversible.
