Spot a theft while it is happening

The first minutes matter most. Fleetalyse can alert you when a vehicle moves outside working hours, leaves a yard or a site you have drawn on the map, or is lifted onto a trailer with the ignition off. Teltonika trackers detect towing from their built-in accelerometer, so a vehicle loaded onto a low-loader still raises an alarm.

Tamper and jamming alerts

Thieves who know about trackers try to disconnect them or block the mobile signal. Teltonika trackers report when their power is cut (they carry a small backup battery to send that last message) and most models detect GSM jamming, so an attempt to silence the tracker becomes an alert in its own right.

• Hide the tracker: a wired unit behind the dashboard is far harder to find than a plug-in one.
• Treat an unplug or jamming alert as a theft in progress until proven otherwise.
• Keep an up-to-date photo of where each unit is fitted, in case you need to talk someone through it.

Help the police recover it

Once you report the theft, share the live position and the route history. The map shows where the vehicle stopped and for how long, which is often where it is being stripped or swapped onto false plates. Never try to recover a stolen vehicle yourself.
