It broadcasts its ID over Bluetooth LE, and a Bluetooth-enabled Teltonika tracker on the tractor unit, van or machine reports it when it is in range. That tells you which trailer, tool or attachment is close to which vehicle.
No GPS or SIM: the beacon's location is the location of the tracker that detects it.

At the default 2 dBm transmit power, the CR2450 cell lasts up to 8 years advertising every 5 seconds and up to 10 years at 10 seconds. If it ships hibernated, it stays switched off until a magnet wakes it, so the cell does not drain in storage.
The battery is not replaceable: at end of life the beacon is replaced.
10-15 minside metal bodies
Teltonika quotes up to 80 m in the open, but inside metal trailers and containers 10-15 m is the reliable figure. Transmit power is adjustable up to 8 dBm in the EYE APP.
IP67dust-tight, immersion
IP67 against dust and immersion and IK10 against impact, at 56.6 x 38 x 13 mm and 18 g. Two mounting holes take screws, cable ties or a lanyard.

This listing is for one new Teltonika EYE Beacon (model BTSID1), order code BTSID17RCC02. It is a small, sealed Bluetooth Low Energy tag that you fix to a trailer, tool, attachment or piece of equipment. It has no GPS and no SIM: a Bluetooth-enabled Teltonika tracker or gateway within range picks it up, and the beacon's location is the location of whatever detected it.
Choose the EYE Beacon when you run, or are buying, a Bluetooth-enabled Teltonika tracker and want to identify trailers, tools or equipment near it. If it arrives hibernated (switched off to save the battery), hold any magnet against it until the LED blinks. The battery cannot be replaced, so the beacon is replaced at end of life. The EYE Beacon is not yet on our supported-device list; ask us before connecting it to Fleetalyse.

A Bluetooth-enabled Teltonika tracker that hears it reports that the beacon is nearby, so you can tell which trailer, tool or attachment is close to which vehicle. It has no GPS, so its position is the position of the tracker that detects it.
Bluetooth-enabled Teltonika trackers on the FM firmware platform, set up in Teltonika Configurator to scan for beacons, and Teltonika Networks devices. Near, away and lost proximity alerts need FM firmware that includes the EYE Beacon settings.
Teltonika quotes up to 8 years at its defaults (a 5-second interval at 2 dBm), up to 10 years at 10 seconds and about 2 years at 1 second. The CR2450 cell is sealed in and not replaceable, so the beacon is replaced at end of life. Teltonika warns that this type of cell performs poorly in extreme cold, and the working range is -20 °C to +60 °C.
