IP67dust-tight, immersion
The two-stage clip case is sealed to IP67, so it can go where an IP41 in-cab tracker cannot. Teltonika says it performs best mounted outside the vehicle.
IP67 holds only when the corner clips are fully closed and the cable is connected. It covers immersion, not pressure washing.
2CAN interfaces
A built-in CAN processor reads fuel level, fuel used, distance and RPM from the machine's own bus, so fuel reports start from real figures rather than estimates.

It is the standard CAN version and has no tachograph support. It is sold as hardware only, with no SIM card supplied and no Fleetalyse platform lock.
Choose this unlocked no-SIM version when you want to configure the APN, SIM provider and tracking platform yourself. The FMC250 is also supported on the Fleetalyse tracking platform, so you can move it to Fleetalyse later with bring-your-own-device.

Yes. The FMC250 is 4G LTE Cat 1 and covers the UK LTE bands (B1, B3, B7, B8 and B20). It also falls back to 2G, which UK networks have scheduled to switch off from 2029 (EE, O2) into 2030 (Vodafone); after that it runs on 4G alone.
A professional fitter hard-wires it with the supplied cable to a permanent 10-30 V feed through an external fuse, ground, ignition and the vehicle or machine CAN wires; an ECAN02 contactless adapter avoids splicing, though some parameters are then not received. The installer removes the covers, fits the Micro-SIM, connects the backup battery and configures it, then presses the covers on twice so the clips close fully for IP67. Teltonika advises mounting it logo up towards open sky with at least three quarters of the surrounding area free of metal, and says it performs best mounted outside the vehicle.
No. Teltonika offers no tacho version of the FMC250, and its TachoSync firmware list includes the FMC150 but not the FMC250. For remote tachograph download on Fleetalyse, choose the FMC650.
Not from the CAN bus on this version. Engine total hours is one of Teltonika's Extended CAN elements, and this standard version does not include the Extended parameters activation. It reads the standard CAN set (fuel level, fuel used, distance, RPM) where Teltonika supports the machine, and the ignition input still reports when the machine is switched on and off, which a platform can total as ignition-on time.
Close it properly. The case shuts in two stages: after fitting the SIM and battery, the installer presses the covers on twice, and the corner clips must be fully fixed with the cable connected. With the case open or the cable unplugged, the IP67 rating does not apply.
