Fuel monitoring with CAN bus and OBD vehicle data
Fuel is usually the biggest running cost after wages, and without data it is guesswork. Trackers that read the vehicle CAN bus or OBD port report real fuel level, consumption and odometer instead of estimates, so you can see which vehicles, routes and habits cost the most.
Real data instead of estimates
On trucks, the FMC650 reads the CAN or FMS interface for fuel level, fuel used, real odometer and engine data. On cars and vans, the FMC003 plugs into the OBD port and reads the parameters the vehicle exposes there, which varies by make and model.
Find the waste
Put fuel next to idling time, speed and route history and the causes become visible: engines left running at drops, heavy right feet, longer routes than necessary. Fuel reports make it easy to compare like for like.

Questions fleets ask
Does every vehicle report fuel level?
No. Trucks with an FMS interface generally do. For cars and vans on OBD, it depends on what the manufacturer makes available, so check with us for your models.
Is CAN data accurate enough for fuel reports?
CAN data comes from the vehicle itself, so it is far better than estimates from distance travelled. For theft detection at tank level, a dedicated fuel sensor may still be needed.
